I’m Marco van Heerde, Head of Product at Someday, a fintech start-up on a mission to improve the financial agility of individuals. The first step towards this goal will be introducing a new product enabling homeowners to use their home equity to respond to financial challenges, retire earlier, or realize their life dreams. We are preparing to launch this product in 2024.

I occasionally teach product management. My most recent class was on product strategy at the Amsterdam Product Club.

Earlier in my career, I was Head of Product of the KLM Mobile app and co-founded the product design agency Somehow (no relation:)).

I studied Business Administration at Erasmus University in Rotterdam, where I majored in Strategic Management. I also graduated from the Hallo Academy Amsterdam, a one-year postgraduate program for applied creativity, strategy, and concept development.

As a typical Dutchman, I live on a houseboat in Amsterdam, which I spend too much time restoring on the weekends. It’s almost done and becoming gorgeous!

I never spend enough time in the ocean, which plays a big part in my life. Being a surfer in the North Sea teaches you perseverance, self-reliance, and an eye for beauty in grim places, skills you definitely need in product management.
